The 2018 edition of the Sooke Fine Arts Show is just around the corner, and Comox Valley Arts is thrilled to share that eleven artists from our area have been juried in to this high calibre and well-respected annual exhibit.
Comox Valley Artists selected include Painters David Ballantyne, Marianne Enhorning, Ian Fry, Sandra Lamb, Uli Ostermann, Marilyn Peeters, Jill Paris-Rody, Perrin Sparks and Patt Scrivener; Pyrographic painter, Sue Pyper; Sculptor and painter, Ina-Griet Raatz-von Hirschhausen; Mixed-medium artist, Lori Kenney; and basketry artist, Christi York.
Congratulations to all for “making the cut.” It’s a significant achievement and well-deserved.

The art show exhibits over 300 pieces of work (chosen from over 1000 submissions) including paintings, sculptures, drawings, photographs and more. The event runs from July 27th to August 6th and also features a gift shop, bistro, special events for children and seniors, daily live artist demonstrations, lectures and music. The 11-day show and sale draws more than 8,000 art lovers from Canada, the US and abroad.
Many of the above artists can be found via the Central Island Arts Guide and all have participated in at least one of the last six Central Island Studio Tours. You can learn more about them at centralislandartsguide.ca
